Youthful Face in an Hour! With Thread Lifting

YOUTHFUL FACE - THREADING TECHNIQUE

The threading technique has been used in medical aesthetics since the 1990s. The method originally comes from South Korea and has spread worldwide from there. Over the years, the technology has evolved, and today there are many different types of threads and application methods available, depending on the desired results.

What is Threading exactly?

Threading, also known as PDO (Polydioxanone) facial rejuvenation, is a minimally invasive procedure in which specially developed, biodegradable threads are placed under the skin. These threads not only have an immediate lifting effect but also stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the long term, which are crucial for maintaining the skin's firmness and elasticity.

Principle of Operation

PDO (Polydioxanone) is a synthetic surgical thread that is naturally and safely absorbed by the skin. The thread inserted into the treatment area creates an artificial wound, initiating a natural healing process. It achieves a lifting effect by tightening the sagging tissues. It activates tissue regeneration, stimulates fibroblast cells, and enhances microcirculation.

What types of PDO threads are available to us?

The first and fundamental type of absorbable threads is the mono thread. Typically used during the first treatment or for smaller wrinkles to tighten the skin and stimulate collagen production. In combined treatments, it can be used together with other types of threads, primarily on the forehead, cheeks, around the mouth, and on the nasolabial lines.

The "Cog" or barbed threads hold the tissues firmly for a more effective lifting effect. The special 4D "Cog" thread has 8 incisions at 360° intervals along the arc, providing comprehensive, firmer support and increased collagen stimulation.

Effects:

  • 3-4 days: Blood circulation and cell metabolism improve around the inserted threads. The skin texture becomes better and tighter.
  • 1-2 weeks: The natural synthesis of proteins (collagen and elastin) begins.
  • 1-6 months: A new strong fibrous layer begins to form around the PDO threads. By the sixth month, the threads gradually start to be absorbed.
  • 6-8 months: Maximum lifting and supporting effect is achieved.
  • 9-16 months: The effects persist even after the complete absorption of the microthreads.

We managed to conduct a short interview with one of our satisfied and returning patients after her threading procedure, where she received 6 Cog threads.

Dr. Goodwin: How was the procedure itself? Wasn't it scary?
Judit: At first, I was a bit apprehensive, because who wouldn't be afraid of a needle in their face, right? But during the consultation, the doctor explained everything in detail and reassured me. I received local anesthesia during the procedure, so I didn't feel anything. The whole process didn't take more than an hour, and it was surprisingly quick.
Dr. Goodwin: How did you feel after the procedure? Were there any side effects?
Judit: My face was a bit swollen and red for the first few days, but this quickly subsided. I experienced some sensitivity, but nothing serious. I was able to return to my daily activities very soon.
Dr. Goodwin: And the result? Are you satisfied with what you see?
Judit: Absolutely! My face is firmer, fresher, as if I had turned back the clock by years. My friends and colleagues also noticed the change, but no one would have thought that I had undergone any procedure. It looks natural, which was very important to me.
