Common misconceptions about B0T0X treatment
- Contrary to common myths, the treatment does not paralyse your muscles. We only block nerve signal transmission temporarily, so we do not cause any harmful effect to the muscles or nerves.
- “My face will look frozen” - When applied in the right amount and with tiny injections, the patient’s face will not look frozen and facial expressions will not disappear. At the same time, we can smooth deeper forehead lines and crow’s feet.
- “B0T0X is poison” - Botulinum toxin is essentially a protein-type substance produced by an anaerobic bacterium. In very small doses, it is an extremely effective tool in the fight against wrinkles, and in the right place and dose it also works excellently as a medicine.

About the treatment
What products do we use?
At our clinic, we use Dysport, Azzalure and Vistabel to treat expression lines. All three products contain botulinum toxin type A, which acts at the neuromuscular junction.
It temporarily reduces the contraction of the targeted muscles, helping
expression lines appear softer and less pronounced.
Dysport is a modern product widely used in aesthetic
medicine to smooth wrinkles and reduce excessive facial muscle activity.
The aim of the treatment is not to alter the character of the face, but to
support a more natural, fresh and well-rested appearance.
Azzalure also contains botulinum toxin type A and is used
for aesthetic treatments. It is primarily used for the temporary improvement
of moderate to severe glabellar lines between the eyebrows and lateral
canthal lines, commonly known as crow’s feet, in adults under the age of 65.
Its effects develop gradually, are temporary, and natural muscle activity
returns over time.
Vistabel is a botulinum toxin type A product associated
with the manufacturers Allergan and AbbVie. Vistabel is a peripherally acting
muscle relaxant that inhibits the transmission of nerve impulses in the
injected muscles, thereby temporarily reducing muscle contraction. In
aesthetic treatments, it may be used for the temporary improvement of
vertical lines between the eyebrows, fan-shaped lines extending from the
corners of the eyes and forehead lines when these wrinkles cause a significant
aesthetic or psychological burden for the adult patient.
It is important to understand that the units of different b0t0x-type products
are not interchangeable. The dosage, treatment areas and precise administration
of Dysport, Azzalure and Vistabel are always determined by the doctor based on
your anatomy, muscle activity, the depth of your wrinkles and the desired result.
Important information and precautions before using Dysport, Azzalure and Vistabel
Like all medicines, Dysport, Azzalure and Vistabel can cause side effects,
although not everybody experiences them. A medical consultation always takes
place before treatment, during which we discuss your health, any potential
contraindications, previous treatments and the result you would like to achieve.
B0t0x treatment requires particular caution if you have a blood-clotting
disorder, if there is an infection or inflammation at the intended injection
site, if you have previously experienced an allergic reaction to a product
containing botulinum toxin, or if you have a neuromuscular condition affecting
nerve-to-muscle signalling, such as myasthenia gravis or Lambert–Eaton syndrome.
Inform your doctor if you are currently taking any medication, have previously
received a b0t0x treatment, did not experience sufficient improvement following
a previous treatment, have undergone surgery involving your face, head, neck or
chest, or are due to have surgery in the near future.
The use of botulinum toxin products alongside certain medicines, such as
aminoglycoside antibiotics or other medicines that affect neuromuscular
transmission, may require additional caution. It is therefore important to
tell your doctor about every medicine you take regularly or occasionally
during your consultation.
Possible side effects
Local, temporary reactions may occur following treatment, including pain,
tenderness, redness, swelling, bruising, itching or discomfort at the injection
site. These symptoms are generally mild to moderate and usually resolve within
a short period of time.
Following the treatment of glabellar lines, forehead lines or wrinkles around
the eyes, possible side effects may include headache, eye fatigue, swollen
eyelids, increased tear production, dry eyes, blurred vision, temporary
drooping of the eyelid or muscle weakness around the treated area. Less
commonly, hypersensitivity reactions, skin rash, itching, dizziness or visual
disturbances may occur.
Most side effects are temporary. If you experience any unusual symptoms,
discomfort or side effects, inform your doctor. This also applies to symptoms
that are not included in the list above.
When should you seek immediate medical attention?
Seek immediate medical assistance if you experience difficulty breathing,
difficulty swallowing, speech problems, swelling of the face, lips, tongue
or throat, wheezing, a feeling of faintness, or a raised, itchy skin rash.
These may be signs of an allergic reaction or the spread of the effects of
botulinum toxin beyond the injection site and therefore require immediate
medical attention.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are
planning to have a baby, make sure you inform your doctor before treatment.
The use of products containing botulinum toxin is generally not recommended
during pregnancy. During breastfeeding, treatment should only be performed
following an individual medical assessment.
Driving and operating machinery
In rare cases, temporary blurred vision, muscle weakness, dizziness or other
side effects that may impair your ability to drive or operate machinery can
occur after treatment. If you experience any of these symptoms, do not drive
or operate potentially dangerous machinery until they have fully resolved.

Although B0T0X is a safe and well-established procedure, there are certain life situations and health conditions in which the treatment is not recommended.
The use of B0T0X is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as protecting the baby’s health is the most important priority during this period. The procedure should also be avoided in certain neurological diseases and muscle or nervous system disorders, as these may affect the result of the treatment.
If you have previously experienced an allergic reaction to any ingredient, or if there is acute inflammation or infection on the affected skin area, B0T0X treatment is also not recommended.

What should you pay attention to before B0T0X treatment?

Treatment process
How does B0T0X treatment work?
Before starting the treatment, we discuss in detail which areas you would like to improve and assess what result can be achieved in your case. Then, using a fine injection needle, we inject the appropriate amount of B0T0X into the pre-defined points. The substance temporarily inhibits the activity of the facial muscles, which allows the skin to smooth out and the wrinkles to visibly soften or disappear completely.
The procedure is quick and performed entirely on an outpatient basis, so no special preparation or recovery time is needed. The procedure itself takes only 10–15 minutes, and most people describe it as virtually painless – at most, you may feel a sensation similar to a tiny mosquito bite.
After the treatment
What should you pay attention to after B0T0X treatment?
- For mild redness, swelling, a burning sensation or small bruises that may occur after the treatment, we recommend using an ice pack wrapped in sterile fabric and applying comfrey cream, which you can buy at any pharmacy.
- From the second day after the treatment, make-up and lipstick may be used, but sunbathing, sauna and solarium should be avoided for one further week.
- We also recommend resting your skin for three weeks after the treatment and avoiding various cosmetic procedures.

What is a B0T0X treatment, and how is it different from other wrinkle-reducing procedures?
During a B0T0X treatment, an active ingredient that temporarily inhibits the function of the mimic muscles is injected under the skin using a fine needle. As a result, wrinkles are smoothed out and the skin gains a younger, firmer appearance. Unlike other wrinkle-reducing procedures (e.g. hyaluronic acid fillers, thread lifting), B0T0X does not focus on restoring volume or tightening the skin, but on reducing the muscle movements responsible for wrinkle formation.
What types of wrinkles does B0T0X treat effectively?
B0T0X primarily treats so-called dynamic wrinkles caused by the activity of the mimic muscles. It is especially effective for smoothing forehead wrinkles, frown lines between the eyebrows (“11 lines”), and crow’s feet (laugh lines around the eyes).
How does the treatment work – anaesthesia, pain, duration?
The treatment is a quick outpatient procedure, usually taking 10–15 minutes. Anaesthesia is not necessary, as the fine needle pricks cause very little discomfort. Most patients compare the sensation to a mosquito bite.
How long does it take to see the first results?
You can usually notice the first changes within 2–3 days, while the final effect develops in about 7–10 days.
How long does the effect last, and when is a repeat treatment recommended?
The effect of the treatment lasts for an average of 3–6 months, after which the mimic muscles gradually regain their function. To maintain a fresh, youthful appearance, repeat treatment is recommended 2–3 times a year.
What possible side effects or complications may occur?
The treatment is generally safe, and side effects may be mild and temporary, such as small bruises, swelling, redness, or a mild headache. A rare complication is temporary eyelid drooping, which can be almost completely avoided with the proper technique.
Are there any lifestyle or activity-related instructions after the treatment?
Yes, for the best possible results:
- Do not rub or massage the treated area during the first 24 hours.
- Avoid sauna, solarium, and intense exercise during the first 2–3 days.
- Make sure you do not lie down in the first few hours, so the active ingredient does not move from the injection site.
Who is B0T0X especially recommended for (and who is it not recommended for)?
It is recommended for anyone who would like to smooth already developed mimic wrinkles, as well as for people in their 20s and 30s for preventive purposes, to help prevent the formation of deeper, static wrinkles.
It is not recommended during pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection, certain neurological or muscle disorders, or in case of allergy.
Can I wear makeup or use a sauna after the treatment?
Light makeup can be used safely from the day after the treatment. However, sauna, solarium, and intense exercise are recommended only after a few days.
