For many people, breast surgery means the same thing as breast augmentation, but this is a misconception. Breast reduction and breast lift also belong in this category; each is a breast surgery procedure that corrects the size or shape of the female breast.
Breast surgery is one of the most frequently performed plastic surgery procedures worldwide, and includes breast lift, breast augmentation and breast reduction as well. Today, many women turn to a plastic surgeon for help and choose these procedures. The motivation is most often a lack of self-confidence: they want to feel attractive to themselves and to others. Low self-confidence should not be underestimated, because it can affect mood, everyday life and often private life as well.

Breast augmentation procedure
Breast augmentation is the most popular breast surgery procedure, as most women usually complain that their breasts are too small. They would like larger, fuller breasts that make their décolletage more attractive. Breast augmentation surgery can not only create larger breasts, but can also correct asymmetrical breasts or make breasts that have sagged over time firmer. Breast augmentation without surgery is not possible – various breast enlargement creams are mostly ineffective.
Breast augmentation with implants
During breast augmentation surgery, different types of implants can be chosen. Your plastic surgeon will help you select the right size and shape of breast implant. During the breast augmentation procedure, we use only the most modern implants, for which the manufacturer provides a lifetime replacement warranty.
The plastic surgeon decides how the implant will be placed, taking your body characteristics and breast structure into account. The breast implant may be placed either under the existing glandular tissue or under the pectoral muscle.

In broad terms, for anyone who is dissatisfied with the shape or size of their breasts. Women usually visit a plastic surgeon with many different concerns:
- For some, pregnancy and breastfeeding have significantly changed the breasts; for them, reconstructive surgery may be the best solution.
- Some feel their breasts are too small and would like larger, fuller breasts. Breast augmentation is the solution for them. Among breast surgery procedures, this is the most frequently performed operation.
- Some are dissatisfied with the shape of their breasts and dislike the appearance of sagging breasts. For them, a breast lift, or a breast lift combined with breast augmentation, may be the solution.
- Some suffer from breasts that are too large. Many do not even realise what a burden carrying large breasts can place on the back. Breast reduction can offer real relief for serious back pain.
- Some are dissatisfied with the shape of their breasts: sagging breasts, overly large nipples, asymmetry and similar concerns. Each of these can be corrected with the appropriate breast surgery procedure.

Breast surgery is not suitable for everyone. For the safety and effectiveness of the procedure, it is important that only those without contraindications undergo it.

We do not recommend breast surgery:
- For those planning pregnancy in the near future, as the shape of the breasts may change due to breastfeeding and hormonal changes.
- For those with untreated health problems, such as a blood clotting disorder, severe heart disease or diabetes.
- For patients who arrive without realistic expectations and expect a miracle from the surgery.
- For those unwilling to follow aftercare instructions, such as attending follow-up examinations or wearing the compression bra.
- For those who are uncertain due to psychological factors, where breast surgery would not address the true cause of their dissatisfaction.
Before the treatment
Before breast surgery
During a personal consultation, the plastic surgeon provides precise information about the necessary examinations to be completed before breast surgery. In general, laboratory tests, ultrasound, ECG and chest X-ray are the basic examinations required. Of course, during the consultation with the patient, the plastic surgeon may also prescribe additional examinations if needed.
During the personal consultation, in addition to general information, the plastic surgeon also makes specific recommendations, and together with the patient they discuss what result can be expected. They go through the necessary preoperative examinations, the course of the plastic surgery procedure and the aftercare instructions. The date of the surgical procedure is also determined during the consultation.

After the treatment
After breast surgery
Plastic surgeons cannot emphasise enough the importance of recovery after breast surgery. Immediately after surgery, you will need to spend one night in the hospital for observation, and after discharge you will need to return regularly for follow-up examinations so that the plastic surgeon can identify any possible complications in time.
After breast surgery, you may experience a feeling of tightness in the breasts. The level of pain varies from person to person. Some experience stronger pain, while others feel only minimal discomfort. During recovery, the pain gradually decreases. It may take a few weeks or even months for the pain to disappear completely.
Aftercare instructions
- Immediately after surgery (0–2 days):
- Rest a lot and avoid sudden movements. You will need to take medication according to your doctor's instructions to relieve pain.
- First week:
- Wear a compression bra 24 hours a day and avoid exertion. Only light walking is recommended.
- Weeks 2–4:
- The sutures are removed by the doctor during a follow-up visit. Swelling gradually decreases. Light household tasks can already be performed.
- Weeks 4–6:
- You can return to work and everyday activities, but exercise is still not recommended.
- After week 6:
- You can gradually return to sports. Scar formation may continue for months, so it is worth using a scar treatment cream.

Mennyi ideig tart a mellplasztikai műtét?
A mellplasztikai műtét általában 1–3 órát vesz igénybe, a beavatkozás típusától és az egyéni igényektől függően.
Milyen a regenerálódás folyamata a mellplasztika után?
A műtétet követő első napokban duzzanat és kisebb fájdalom jelentkezhet, amit fájdalomcsillapítóval kezelni lehet. A gyógyulás fokozatos, a mell formája a következő hetekben alakul végleges állapotába.
Mikorra gyógyulnak be a hegek?
A hegek a beavatkozást követő 6–12 hónap alatt halványulnak, és a legtöbb esetben alig láthatóvá válnak.
Mennyi ideig kell speciális melltartót viselni a műtét után?
Speciális, támogató melltartót általában 8 hétig javasolt viselni, hogy a mell megfelelően rögzüljön és a duzzanat csökkenjen.
Mikor lehet újra intenzíven sportolni vagy fizikailag aktív lenni?
Könnyű mozgás megengedett már a műtét utáni 1–2 hétben, intenzív sport vagy súlyemelés csak 6 hét elteltével ajánlott.
Mikor lehet újra vezetni vagy visszatérni a munkába?
Általában 1–2 hét pihenés után visszatérhetsz a munkához, vezetni könnyedén lehet, ha nem érzel fájdalmat és biztonságosan tudod irányítani az autót.
Mikor lehet ismét napozni, szaunázni vagy szoláriumozni?
Napozni, szoláriumozni vagy szaunázni a műtét után legalább 8 hétig nem ajánlott, hogy elkerüld a hegek elszíneződését és a duzzanat fokozódását.
Lehet-e szoptatni a mellplasztika után?
A mellplasztikai beavatkozások során nem sérülnek a tejmirigyek, így a mellimplantátum nem gátolja a tejtermelést, a szoptatást. Viszont azt fontos tudni, hogy sem terhesség, sem szoptatás alatt nem végezhető mellplasztikai beavatkozás. Ha pedig már tervezed a terhességet, akkor sem ajánlott közvetlenül teherbeesés előtt ilyen beavatkozást végezni.
Milyen kockázatai lehetnek a mellplasztikai beavatkozásnak?
Mint minden műtétnek, a mellplasztikának is lehetnek kockázatai, például fertőzés, vérzés, hegesedés, érzékelés változása vagy implantátum-specifikus szövődmények. A konzultáció során részletesen tájékoztatunk a lehetséges kockázatokról.
Szabad-e hason feküdni a műtét után?
Nem, a mellműtét után 10 napig nem szabad hason feküdni. De akár a hátadon, akár az oldaladon is aludhatsz.
Milyen gyakran szükséges kontrollvizsgálatra járni?
A kezelőorvos által javasolt időpontokban kell kontrollvizsgálaton megjelenni. Az első kontrollvizsgálatra rögtön a műtétet követő napon kerül sor. Ezután 7 nap múlva, 14 nap múlva, 6 hét múlva és 3 hónap múlva szükséges a kontrollvizsgálat. Minden esetben előzetes időpont egyeztetés előzi meg a vizsgálatot.
Kell-e varratszedés a beavatkozás után?
A Dr. Goodwin Szépség- és Egészségközpontban a mellplasztikai műtétek során felszívódó varratokkal dolgozunk, ezzel is megkímélve a pácienst a varratszedés kellemetlenségétől. Így varratszedésre nálunk nincs szükség.
Mennyi ideig tart a varratok és hegek teljes gyógyulása?
A varratok felszívódása és a hegek teljes gyógyulása általában 6–12 hónap alatt történik, ez idő alatt a mell formája is fokozatosan alakul végleges állapotába.
Alapárak és konzultáció költségei – mi befolyásolja az árat?
Az árakat befolyásolja a beavatkozás típusa, az implantátum anyaga, a műtét bonyolultsága és a szükséges előzetes vizsgálatok. A konzultáció során pontos árajánlatot kapsz, személyre szabva.
