Removal of Skin Lesions

Warts in an uncomfortable location? Moles or skin growths? Bothersome lumps and skin lesions? Would you like to get rid of them but do not know how?

Are you bothered by a wart, mole or skin growth on your body? Or is a lump in an uncomfortable location or an ingrown nail causing problems in everyday life?

Different skin lesions may cause not only aesthetic discomfort, but in certain cases irritation, injury or health risks as well. Many people live with these lesions for a long time, even though in most cases they can be treated quickly and simply.

During removal of skin lesions, problems such as the following can be treated:

  • warts
  • moles
  • fatty lumps (lipomas)
  • skin growths
  • other skin lesions
  • ingrown nails

The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia, so the procedure usually takes only a short time and involves minimal discomfort. After the treatment, histological examination is performed in every case.

Removal of Skin Lesions basics

What is Removal of Skin Lesions Treatment?

Removal of skin lesions is an outpatient surgical procedure aimed at safely removing various skin lesions that are bothersome from an aesthetic or health perspective.

Over time, different changes may appear on the skin. These may include warts, moles, fatty lumps (lipomas), skin growths or other skin lesions, which are often harmless but can still cause discomfort from an aesthetic or physical point of view.

  • Warts are skin lesions caused by viral infection and may often appear on the fingers, backs of the hands, soles, trunk or even around the genital area.
  • Moles may also develop later in life, for example due to UV exposure, puberty or pregnancy. Their removal may be justified if they cause aesthetic concern, are easily injured or if there is suspicion of a malignant change.
  • Fatty lumps (lipomas) are benign lumps made of fatty tissue and located under the skin. They are generally harmless, but may be bothersome due to their size or location.
  • Ingrown nails are a common problem, most often caused by improper or overly short nail cutting, and may irritate the nail bed.

The treatment is performed under local anaesthesia on an outpatient basis, so no hospital stay is required. The procedure usually takes 15–20 minutes and in most cases involves only minor discomfort.

For safety reasons, every removed lesion is sent for histological examination, which helps rule out possible abnormal changes.

Who is it recommended for?

Removal of skin lesions may be a suitable solution for those who are aesthetically bothered by a skin lesion, or when the lesion causes discomfort, irritation or even a health concern.

Many people decide on removal because the skin changes that have appeared are bothersome in everyday life, are located in a visible area or can be easily injured.

The procedure may also be justified if a lesion is frequently irritated, injured or if there is suspicion of an abnormal change, and a specialist recommends its removal.

The exact treatment options are always assessed during a consultation, where the specialist examines the lesion and recommends the most suitable solution for you.

Who is it not recommended for?

Before removing skin lesions, a personal consultation and assessment are required in every case, because only an examination can determine whether the given lesion can be removed safely.

The treatment cannot always be performed immediately, and in some cases additional tests or another type of care may be recommended.

During the consultation, experienced aesthetic consultants carry out a full assessment and discuss the options with you in detail. If the removal can be performed safely, they recommend the appropriate treatment and answer all your questions.

This step is important because it ensures that the treatment is medically justified and the most suitable solution for you.

Therefore, the procedure is generally not recommended or should be postponed if:

  • the exact type of lesion cannot be determined without examination,
  • there is suspicion of a malignant skin lesion and further investigation is needed,
  • the treatment of the given skin lesion requires another form of medical care.

How Removal of Skin Lesions Treatment Works

Removal of skin lesions is an outpatient procedure performed under local anaesthesia, so no hospital stay is required. The treatment usually takes 15–20 minutes and in most cases involves only minor discomfort.

The treatment process usually consists of the following steps:

1. Assessment and consultation

The treatment is always preceded by a detailed consultation, during which the skin lesion is examined and the treatment options are discussed.

2. Local anaesthesia

Before the procedure, the treated area is anaesthetised locally, so during the treatment you usually experience only minimal discomfort.

3. Removal of the lesion

The surgeon removes the skin lesion under outpatient conditions. The procedure takes only a short time and can usually be performed quickly.

4. Histological examination

The removed lesions are always sent for histological examination, which helps rule out possible abnormal changes.

The treatment can provide a quick and effective solution for eliminating bothersome skin lesions, while the procedure is performed under safe conditions.

After the treatment

After removal of skin lesions, it is important to pay close attention to the treated area, as the healing process may vary from person to person.

After the procedure, scabbing or crusting usually develops in the treated area. This is part of the natural healing process and in most cases falls off on its own within 8–14 days, which may also depend on the size and depth of the wound.

After the scab comes off, a pinkish spot may remain on the skin and gradually fade. This area generally fades gradually over 5–6 months.

Healing time can always vary individually, so after the treatment it is important to monitor the condition of the treated skin surface and follow the instructions recommended by the specialist.

What our patients say

Frequently asked questions

Mennyi ideig tart a bőrelváltozások eltávolítása?

A beavatkozás általában 15–20 percet vesz igénybe. A kezelés ambulánsan történik, így nincs szükség kórházi tartózkodásra.

Fájdalmas a bőrelváltozások eltávolítása?

A kezelést helyi érzéstelenítésben végezzük, ezért a beavatkozás általában nem jár fájdalommal. A kezelés során legfeljebb kisebb kellemetlenséget tapasztalhatsz.
