Introduction
Fractional CO2 laser treatment is one of the most effective structure-based procedures in modern skin-quality improvement.
It acts in a targeted way on the deeper layers of the skin, where it initiates biological regeneration processes by creating controlled microthermal zones. The treatment is not a superficial “peeling” procedure, but a gradual structural renewal based on collagen and elastin stimulation.
As a result of the procedure, the skin’s structure gradually undergoes regeneration: superficial wrinkles may be reduced, deeper lines may become softer, and skin firmness and tone evenness may improve.
The result is not an immediate “transformation”, but a biological response that develops over several weeks. CO2 fractional treatment cannot be considered a pain-free procedure. The intensity felt depends on individual pain threshold.
Thanks to modern, high-precision technology and an optimized treatment protocol, however, the duration of the procedure is short and controlled, which significantly reduces the burden on the patient. During the treatment, an intense stimulus may be felt, which stops once the procedure is completed; post-treatment pain relief is usually not required.

What is the treatment?
The fractional CO2 laser operates at a wavelength of 10,600 nm, which is primarily absorbed by the water content of the skin. This allows precise, controlled microablation to occur, penetrating the epidermis and initiating collagen stimulation in the upper layer of the dermis. During the process, the skin’s structure gradually renews itself, becoming firmer, more even and fresher.
It is important to emphasize that our clinical platform uses a fractional system, and the treatment goal is structural rejuvenation, not full-surface, continuous ablation. The treatment is not classic “full ablative resurfacing”, but a controlled procedure that supports biological regeneration and minimizes the risk of overtreatment and complications.
The protocol is course-based. A single session may also produce a refreshing effect; however, optimal and lasting improvement in skin quality is typically achieved as part of a program consisting of 2–4 treatments. The process of new collagen formation takes place over several weeks, so the result develops gradually.
All settings are personalized, taking into account the current condition of the skin, age, skin type, skin color, previous treatments, general health and lifestyle factors, as well as individual expectations. The goal is always effective yet controlled regeneration. Treatment intensity is determined so that effectiveness and safety remain balanced, with particular attention to healing time and minimizing the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Thanks to the innovative enlarged fractional handpiece and the technology that delivers multiple pulses within a single emission cycle, treatment time may be reduced to as little as one third compared with previous systems. Who is it not recommended for?
Although CO2 fractional laser treatment can be used widely, it is not recommended in certain conditions, or postponement may be justified.

Before the treatment
Before starting the treatment, our laser specialist provides detailed information both verbally and in writing, explains the expected reactions and the aftercare protocol, and ensures the conditions necessary for a properly informed decision.
After discussing the above, the skin surface to be treated is thoroughly cleansed, and a lidocaine-containing numbing cream is applied in every case. In the case of lidocaine sensitivity, a topical anesthetic with another active ingredient, selected individually, may be used. Once the anesthetic has taken effect, preparation and disinfection of the treated area follow.
During the treatment, a sensation of heat and burning may occur. Its intensity varies from person to person and depends on individual pain tolerance as well as the settings used. The aim of anesthesia is to reduce discomfort; however, complete painlessness during the treatment cannot be guaranteed.
The laser treatment is performed based on individual skin parameters and clinical condition, with primary consideration given to safety protocols. The treatment settings are always determined by our laser specialist based on professional judgment.

After complete disinfection of the area to be treated, the CO2 laser procedure begins either on its own or as part of a combined FRACULA THERAPY (a combination of laser and PRP – own plasma – or Dracula therapy).
In the case of Fracula, the patient’s previously collected and prepared blood plasma is applied simultaneously with the laser treatment. In accordance with the latest international protocols, the plasma is primarily reintroduced using a needle-free technique. In certain cases, taking the individual skin condition into account, microneedle-assisted delivery may also be used.
When the plasma is applied, the patient often experiences a sudden, pleasantly cooling sensation on the treated area as the biologically active fluid comes into contact with the skin surface stimulated by the laser.
The aim of the combined procedure is to support regenerative processes. Recovery time varies from person to person; however, the use of the combined protocol may contribute to a more structured and balanced course of regeneration. The actual duration of the laser treatment generally depends on the number and size of the treated areas and is usually 10–15 minutes.
After completion of the laser treatment, the treated area is disinfected again, then a skin-soothing post-laser cream developed specifically for this purpose is applied. This is followed by the use of a cooling thermal-water spray, then SPF 50 sunscreen is applied to the skin surface.
As a final step, 5–10 minutes of cooling with an ice gel supports skin comfort. The patient may then leave.
After the treatment
Immediately after the treatment, the skin shows a natural tissue reaction. The skin becomes red, often resembling sunburn in appearance. A burning sensation, warmth and tightness may be felt, but these typically do not require oral painkillers. The appearance is generally manageable, and there is no need to wear a mask or isolate after leaving the clinic.

The duration of regeneration may vary depending on the treated area. On the face, recovery time is generally 5–8 days, while for the neck, décolletage, backs of the hands or body treatments, regeneration may take longer, typically 14–21 days. The individual healing process may differ from this.
After complete peeling, the pinkish redness gradually decreases and usually fades within 4–21 days.

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a temporary brownish discoloration that develops as a consequence of the skin’s inflammatory response. With appropriate sun protection and aftercare, it usually resolves gradually.
Abnormal scarring is extremely rare and primarily occurs in individuals who are genetically predisposed to it. To minimize the risk, consistent adherence to the aftercare protocol and SPF 50 sun protection is especially important.
